Immerse yourself in Barcelona’s art exhibitions
I don’t know about you, but I’m excited to discover new things, and when someone mentions art, my eyes instantly shine. Or maybe you’re here because you’re looking for something different to do, something to take you out of the routine. Whatever the reason, you’re in the right article.
Let me recommend you four completely different but still fascinating styles of art that you can find in Barcelona at this time of the year. I promise you that you will love at least one (or all) of them.
Fernando Botero
exposition
exposition

Botero, who died in 2023, was one of the most important artists of the 20th century, whose style is called “Boteroism” based on monumental volumes and bright colors. Barcelona’s Palau Martorell will host a tribute exhibition to Colombian artist Fernando Botero that will feature more than 110 works in his name.
The opening date is February 14, which I personally think is a nice gift if you are in a couple and both are passionate about art, plus you have until July 21 to attend the event.
Tickets are already on sale on the website of the Palau Martorell, as for the price, the general entrance is 16 euros.
Goya Universe: Between Light and Darkness

If you take a tour of a Goya exhibit, be prepared for an intense tour full of contrasts. You will find everything from elegantly detailed portraits to haunting scenes that seem to be taken from a nightmare dream. His art has a brutal force, it grabs you and makes you think because he not only painted what he saw, but what he felt about the world around him. He is one of those artists who will not leave you indifferent; his images shake you, they go around in your head and make you see history and humanity with different eyes. This option is one of those that excites me the most, I’m waiting for the doors to open on February 27 to attend, it will be located in Centre d’Art Amatller, Barcelona; And it will have a value of only 8 euros. Ticket sales to the general public from Tuesday 4th February at 12:00!
Banksy

If urban art has caught your attention and you want to immerse yourself in Banksy’s world, then you must make a stop in Barcelona. Carrer Trafalgar, 34 has a permanent exhibition of more than 130 replicas of his most iconic works, impregnated with the wit, criticism and rebellious style that made him unique. Opening hours are from 10:00 to 20:00 every day (until 21:00 on Thursdays). It is not necessary, but I recommend buying tickets online to secure your plan, you can find them on the website for about 14 euros. In addition, the museum offers guided tours in multiple languages and offers Banksy-style art workshops on weekends, where you can learn their techniques and create your own pieces.
Amazonia by Sebastião Salgado

As a last recommendation that is focused on photographic art, I recommend Amazonia by Sebastião Salgado, an exhibition of impressive photos that alternate landscapes with portraits of the indigenous people that inhabit the Amazon rainforest, all accompanied by the music of Jean-Michel Jarre, a mix of real sounds from the Amazon. It is not just an exhibition, it is a total experience that surrounds you and transports you to this incredible corner of the world, is until April 20 for a value of 12.50 euros.

“Barcelona is a city full of art and exhibitions everywhere. It’s the perfect place for art and culture lovers, with a vibrant creative scene on every corner.”
