A Grand Waterfall

A highlight of the park is the stunning Cascada Monumental, a grand fountain and waterfall completed in 1881 by Josep Fontser. Inspired by Rome’s Trevi Fountain, it showcases Baroque-style architecture with sculptures of Neptune, Venus, winged horses, and Aurora atop a chariot, symbolizing the dawn of a new day.

Even Antoni Gaudí worked on the hydraulic systems of the fountain early in his career.Visitors to the park usually gather around the Cascada Monumental to relax, enjoy the view, and take photos of this landmark in Parc de la Ciutadella.
